You’ve heard it before, but stress can be a serious problem. The body can detect stress by sensing changes in hormone levels. In women, this reaction is known to cause acne breakouts. However, there are several ways you can limit stress’s negative effects on your skin if you know how to treat yourself with proper exercise and relaxation techniques such as yoga or meditation. In addition, you can keep your hormones balanced by taking the right supplements.

1. What Components Are Considered Actives, And What Principle Of Their Action?

Actives are substances that can enhance the functioning of a particular organ. In terms of our skin, this refers to active components like retinol and salicylic acids, which promote cellular turnover for healthier skin. In addition, it’s important to use actives in combination with antioxidants, which neutralize free radicals generated by environmental factors like UV radiation and cigarette smoke. The principle of action refers to how the activity works in your skin. For example, retinol stimulates cellular turnover in epidermal cells, while salicylic acid decreases lipids and cell growth.

2. What Is The Difference Between Activities And Hormones?

Actives are substances applied topically, while hormones are produced internally. In women, increased levels of estrogen and progesterone can stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce too much sebum. This leads to blocked pores and acne breakouts. However, it’s important to use products with a high concentration of antioxidants to achieve the benefits of topical actives while using birth control pills or other hormonal treatments. According to the HGH clinic, hormonal imbalances can cause skin problems by increasing sebaceous gland secretion and decreasing epidermal cell turnover. Hormonal imbalance can also cause muscle weakness and fatigue, resulting in skin problems, including acne and hair loss.

3. Examples Of Actives For Skin

There are various examples of actives for the skin.

Ceramides

Ceramides are considered vital components in skin structure. The function of Ceramides is to maintain skin barrier function and repair the skin when it has been damaged. Ceramides are naturally synthesized by the body and cannot be obtained from food. Therefore, it is extremely important to have a constant supply of ceramides for healthy skin.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of skin and can be found in the joints and eyes. Hyaluronic acid’s main role is to bind water to the skin. In addition, hyaluronic acid also functions as a lubricant for joints and eyes. Therefore, hyaluronic acid has been used in the cosmetic field with great results.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide is a B vitamin that facilitates the synthesis of fatty acids, collagen, and elastin. It also prevents skin from becoming too dry. Niacinamide can also be found in other products, including creams and skin care products.

Glycerin

Glycerin is an ingredient found in various skin care products. Glycerin is also a humectant, attracting water to the skin. Therefore, glycerin can make skin suppler and moisturizing.

Panthenol

Panthenol stimulates new cell growth and prevents epidermal cells’ premature aging. Panthenol has been successfully used to treat skin cancers.

Retinol

Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A. Topical retinoids such as Retin-A or Renova stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce less sebum and the epidermal cells to grow more rapidly. Therefore, retinol allows the skin to retain moisture and prevents dead skin from accumulating on the surface of your skin.

4. Common Signs Of A Damaged Skin Barrier

There are several common symptoms of a damaged skin barrier.

Dryness

Dry skin is usually a result of the epidermal cells being damaged. The epidermal layer is responsible for moisturizing the skin by retaining water molecules. If the epidermal layer does not function properly, skin can become too dry and lead to other problems such as acne breakouts.

Redness

To keep your skin healthy and hydrated, you must have the proper amount of moisture. When skin is too dry or too thick, it not only causes acne breakouts; it can also increase the risk of skin cancer.

Itch or flaking

When the skin becomes too dry, it releases more histamine. Therefore, the skin can become red and itchy. In addition, people with dry skin tend to exfoliate their skin more frequently, which increases the risk of infection.

Dull appearance

Dry, flaky skin looks dull and can appear darker in color. It’s important to have a healthy moisture level in the epidermal layer of your skin. Otherwise, you will have dull-looking skin.

Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is a common skin problem among women. In addition, hyperpigmentation occurs when the sebaceous glands release too much sebum. The sebum is a mix of oil and dead skin cells. The combination of dead cells and oil can clog pores and make acne breakouts occur.

Skin Infections Or Acne Breakouts

When the skin barrier is damaged, it can cause acne breakouts and skin infections. Additionally, if the skin becomes too dry, there’s a risk of developing eczema or psoriasis.

Sensitivity

Sensitivity is an indication that the skin barrier is damaged. Your skin will likely become red, itchy, and irritated when exposed to substances such as soap, detergents, and perfumes.

Various activities are beneficial for the skin. A method known as “active application” involves applying cosmetics with actives to your skin. In addition, the effect of actives can sometimes be more powerful than using a cream or lotion alone. This is because you can apply them more frequently to have continuous results. HGH clinic advises treating conditions at the root of your problem with activities rather than just treating symptoms. Skin problems such as acne breakouts and dull-looking skin can greatly impact overall appearance. Therefore, it is important to use products with high concentrations of actives to achieve better results. However, it is important to note that not all actives suit every skin type. You should consult your doctor or dermatologist before using any form of topical active.
